Banks require independent Chartered Accountant certification at several points in a loan's life stock and book-debt statements that set your drawing power, fund-utilization certificates confirming loan proceeds went where intended, and projected financials for fresh sanctions. Every certificate needs a UDIN. Getting the stock statement wrong is the most common reason a cash-credit account slips into NPA classification, so this isn't paperwork to rush.

| Certificate | Purpose | When Required |
| Stock and book-debt statement | Sets drawing power on a CC/OD limit | Monthly or quarterly, per sanction terms |
| Stock audit report | Independent physical verification of inventory and receivables | Commonly triggered at working capital limits of ₹5 crore and above, per individual bank policy |
| Fund-utilization certificate | Confirms term-loan or project-finance proceeds were used as sanctioned | On drawdown and at project milestones |
| Projected financials (CMA data) | Supports credit appraisal for a fresh loan or renewal | At sanction and renewal |
| Net worth certificate | Verifies guarantor capacity for a personal guarantee | At sanction, and sometimes annually |
| If the outstanding balance exceeds the computed DP continuously for 90 days, the account can be classified as NPA under the current IRACP framework which is why an accurate, timely statement matters more than a formality. |
A statement older than three months is treated as irregular under current RBI norms and can itself trigger a DP shortfall.
Banks and stock auditors will write this down, and an inflated figure discovered later invites scrutiny of every past statement.
Persistent small mismatches compound and are exactly what a periodic stock audit is designed to catch.
Diversion of loan proceeds, even unintentional, is a serious lending covenant breach.
As with other CA certificates, one without a valid UDIN can be rejected by the bank.
